US maker of scratch-free smartphone displays is planning to introduce its scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass to car windows within the next year, Venture Beast has reported. The company said the lighter material of Gorilla Glass will lower the overall weight of cars, saving owners on fuel costs. Corning also said that Gorilla Glass will make cars quieter as well. The firm had experimented with developing car windshields in the 60s, which is what helped create the Gorilla Glass that protects today's smartphone screens.
