Dubai to build world's longest single arch bridge

The sixth bridge across the Dubai Creek has been named as the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Crossing. With 12 lanes, it will cost Dhs3bn and goes from Al Jaddaf near Bur Dubai to close to the Lagoons and Festival City. It will take four years to construct and once completed will be the longest single arched bridge in the world. The bridge will be 1,600m long and 64m wide. The arch rises to a height of 205m and is 667m long. On Friday the new 12-lane Garhoud Bridge across Dubai Creek fully opened.
