Egypt ferry accident, 16 dead

16 people, including six children, were killed yesterday, Saturday, when the minibus they were travelling in slid off a ferry and sank in the River Nile in southern Egypt, reported the AP. It is thought the accident occurred because the driver of the bus did not engage the brakes as the ferry was moving across the river near the village of Deir Mawas in Minya province about 209 kilometres south Cairo.
