Emirates has launched its ninth route to the United States with the inaugural flight of its daily service to the Windy City, Chicago, Zawya has reported. It's the second Emirates US route launch this year, following the daily service to Boston that began in March. As well as 266 passengers, the aircraft can carry 17 tonnes of cargo; a twice-weekly cargo service launched last year moved over 11,000 tonnes between the cities. "We welcome the chance to establish a non-stop trade bridge between these two great cities," said Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline, in a statement. "This is good news for trade and tourism for both cities, and jobs that rely on both, as well as for consumers who will benefit from greater competitive choice."
