Emirates wants B777 successor specs before placing order

Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline has said the Dubai-based airline is seeking more information from Boeing about the successor to the B777 aircraft before considering an order for the replacement of the US manufacturer's bestselling airliner, Bloomberg has reported. "We're working closely to get to specifications we're happy with," Clark told the news service. "That means layouts, the seats, the galleys, getting the weights right, getting the fuel burn." The carrier may need as many as 275 B777s for replacement and expansion, a requirement so large Emirates is likely to become the launch customer of the successor plane, he said.
