National carrier Gulf Air's Country Manager for the UK, Mr. Rashid Abdulrahman AlGaoud, has been elected to the position of Board member of the Board of Airline Representatives in the UK (BAR UK) for a one year term. BAR UK is an industry association representing the majority of airlines operating to the UK and this is the first time a Bahraini joins.
Mr. AlGaoud commented, "I am delighted to be part of the Board of Airline Representatives in the UK adding my voice to issues that affect airlines including, government policy, regulation, airport capacity, environment, border control, taxation and charges. I look forward to making a positive contribution while raising awareness of Gulf Air's longstanding ties to the United Kingdom and the airline's ongoing commitment to industry best practices."

The Board of Airline Representatives in the UK presents the widest international voice of the airline industry; representing 75 scheduled airlines in the UK in their dealings with government departments, regulators and airport operators. Gulf Air's Mr. Rashid Abdulrahman AlGaoud, is the first Bahraini to join the BAR UK.
