Gulf airlines seek to add Indian cities

Gulf-based carriers such as Emirates, Gulf Air and Qatar Airways are aggressively looking at connecting more Indian cities, including non-metro cities such as Calicut, Amritsar and Lucknow, reported the Economic Times. An official in India's ministry of civil aviation said there is 'enough scope' for these airline to operate in India as nearly 40% bilateral seat entitlements are still unutilised.
