India requires travellers' details in advance

Details of travellers flying from the Middle East to India will be available to Indian immigration authorities before their arrival from next month as the government will require all airlines to submit passenger manifest prior to landing, reported Gulf News. Representatives from airlines landing in India will provide information such as the full name, gender, date of birth and nationality of the passengers and crew in electronic form within 15 minutes of the aircraft taking off from a foreign location. UAE-based airlines said they are prepared to follow this procedure when it comes into effect from April 1.
