Singapore's US$9 billion a year tourism industry was hit hard between March and May in 2003, as visitor arrivals plunged by more than 70 per cent due to SARS. Tourism Board chief executive Lim Neo Chian believes Singapore's new brand positioning will help it reach its target of 7.6 million visitors in 2004, a 24 percent annual increase.
