Iran imports 34,000 cars in first 4 months of 2014

Iran announced that it has imported more than 34,000 cars, valued at about $683m, in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-July 22). Iran's car imports rose by 168% in quantity and 154% in value during the four-month period compared to the same period in the previous year, the Fars News Agency reported on Wednesday. In February, Iranian MP Ali Alilou said Iran is planning scrap all car import tariffs in the next two years.
