Kuwait Airways selects Airbus as best bid

Kuwait's transport minister Salem al-Othaina has announced Kuwait Airways has selected Airbus to provide new jets because its proposal was the best value for money, Reuters has reported. The state-owned carrier found that the Airbus offer was better than one by rival Boeing because of the cost and other specifications, al-Othaina said. Kuwait Airways would pay around KD850m for 25 new planes, a source with knowledge of the matter said, adding that a deal could be closed as early as this month.
