Kuwait eyeing higher Hajj quota

Kuwait's Awqaf and Islamic affairs ministry has said it plans to ask the Saudi Hajj authorities to increase the number of pilgrims from Kuwait by 6,000 pilgrims to 14,000 pilgrims per year, Arab Times has reported. The request will allow expatriates living in Kuwait to perform Hajj rituals in Saudi Arabia, a ministry official said, adding that the 8,000 quota will be reserved only for Kuwaiti pilgrims if the request is rejected.
