$136m earmarked for Maritime City

The UAE emirate of Sharjah plans to spend Dhs500m ($136m) in 2008 to build the basic infrastructure, including a quay wall, of its Maritime City that will cater to shipping companies, reported Gulf News. The maritime zone covers a million square metres of land. It will have facilities for drydocking, shipbuilding, rig construction, ship design and warehousing.
