Manila's NAIA congestion delays Oman Air's expansion plans

The Philippines' Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has said it was unable to grant Oman Air and Jet Airways of India landing rights between 7am and 7pm for their regular flights to Manila, due to the congestion at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Times of Oman has reported. "NAIA's airport slots are full only between 7am and 7pm, so Oman Air and Jet Airways of India may apply for periods other than the congested hours. However, Jet Airways and Oman Air are insisting on slots that are not available at this point," a CAB official told the daily. "Also, Jet Airways was given a permit in 2010, whereas the Foreign Air Carriers Permit (FACP) for Oman was only filed recently (April 26, 2013)," the official said.
