Mideast airline passengers up 18% in 2007

Middle East carriers recorded an 18.1% increase in passenger demand in 2007, the highest among all regions of the world, according to the latest figures from the International Air Transport Association. Middle East carriers also led all regions in 2007 with a 10.1% increase in freight demand, down sharply from 16.1% in 2006. Overall, all world regions saw strong air passenger traffic growth, with world growth increasing 7.4% in 2007, reported Khaleej Times.
