Muscat International posts 10% rise in passenger traffic

Oman's Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has said that total passenger traffic including transit and transfer passengers through Muscat International Airport grew by 10% to 3,416,394 passengers during the first five months of 2013, compared with 3,100,706 passengers for the same period a year ago, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Air cargo traffic through the airport rose by 1%, with total shipment 49,190 tonnes at the end of May 2013 from 48,858 tonnes in the same period last year. Salalah Airport also witnessed a increase of 12% in the total number of arriving and departing passengers to 270,438 passengers at the end of May 2013, compared with 241,795 passengers during the same period last year.
