Oman to develop Port Sultan Qaboos for tourism

The Omani transport ministry has approved a master plan to develop the Port Sultan Qaboos as a tourism port, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The master plan includes building new terminals for the cruise liners (third generation), terminals for receiving passengers, shops and multipurpose buildings, that were designed in a way that reflects the Omani marine heritage and history. The new layout also includes hotels, yards, aisles and recreational centres. The port will retain a commercial terminal that will be dedicated for export and import services related to certain goods and emergencies.
