Ooredoo posts 4.7% rise in H1 revenue

Qatari telecoms group Ooredoo's has said its revenue in the first half of 2013 rose 4.7% to QR17.1bn, compared with the same period a year earlier, the Peninsula has reported. The growth was mainly fuelled by strong performances in Qatar and across the international footprint, Ooredoo said. As at June 30, 2013, the group's consolidated customer base stood at 92 million, up from 84 million in H1 2012, representing year-on-year growth of 10%. Group EBITDA in the period fell 1.7% year-on-year to QR7.66bn. The EBITDA margin at the end of H1 2013 was 45%, compared with 48% in H1 2012, the firm said.
