RAK Airways plans destinations, fleet expansion

RAK Airways has unveiled a strategic plan aimed at achieving commercial expansion and acquiring new aircraft, Saudi Gazette has reported. The plan is part of the airline's efforts to achieve the target of 40 new destinations around the world by the year 2015, of which five will be announced shortly, said the airline's president, Murabit Al Sawaf. The carrier is also "close to inking deals with some agencies to acquire new fleet of aircraft in order to meet the requirements for its future expansions. Accordingly, new aircraft will join the fleet before the end of this year," he said, noting that the airline is now operating its services using two leased aircraft.
