Saudi Arabia tightens rules for Haj operators

The Saudi government has banned the promotion of religious propagators in the marketing campaigns for Haj companies, Saudi Gazette has reported. The move comes after several Haj operators used popular religious propagators to charge pilgrims extra money. Haj companies and operators are allowed to appoint religious guides but cannot mention their names in marketing campaigns, the Haj ministry said. Violators will be fined and prevented from housing pilgrims in locations around the Haram and other key places, the ministry added.
