Saudi looks to boost tourism with Al-Oqair development

The Saudi cabinet has allocated SR1.4bn for the development of the Al-Oqair region for tourism purposes, Arab News has reported. The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) is coordinating with the concerned departments to provide the necessary infrastructure facilities such as roads, water and electricity for the project, said Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the SCTA. A royal decree has also been issued earlier "approving the Supreme Economic Council's proposal to establish Al-Oqair Development Company, a joint stock firm of public and private sectors," he added.
