Three firms bid for Muscat, Salalah airports consultancy deal

Oman's transport ministry has received buds from three international consultants vying for the contract to oversee the expansion and modernisation of the Muscat and Salalah international airports, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Dar Al Handasah, Hill International and Abu Dhabi-based Aecom Middle East had their technical offers opened at the Tender Board last week, the ministry said. The selected bidder will take the place of the Cowi-Larsen Joint Venture, which in September was informed by the ministry that its contract as the main consultant for the multibillion dollar airports expansion project would not be renewed beyond December 31, 2012.
