Gillette, the international producer of men’s safety razors and grooming products, has introduced a new creation to end the era of what it calls men’s “ShaveFace”.
The new product, Gillette Fusion ProGlide with Flexball, is the latest addition to the Gillette Fusion razors line.
“The revolutionary razor moves in 3D, so it responds to the contours of a man’s face for better contact and virtually gets every hair,” Amy Couture-Rizzo, senior product researcher at Gillette Global Grooming, told Aficionado during the launch event, held in Dubai earlier this month.
According to Rizzo, the Gillette Fusion ProGlide with Flexball took “nearly five years in development by large teams of engineers, researchers and designers, and then testing over 1,000 men.”
On a global scale, Rizzo stated that she had noticed, through her conversations with different men, that they were paying more attention to their appearance. Meanwhile, she noticed that while “culturally there are differences; men are definitely wanting to customise the way they look, almost as an accessory.”

During the launch, Aficionado also caught up with Kris Fade of Virgin Radio Dubai, who was also emceeing the event.
“I got involved with Gillette few months ago when they introduced me to the product they’re launching here,” Fade told Aficionado.
“I’ve shaved with many different shavers over the years and with this I can shave with one stroke, like a Ferrari down my jawbones and chin, and it just takes it so well,” he added.
