Luxury Swiss watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne is hosting its fourth Middle East horological exhibition this week at The Dubai Mall.
The exhibition, to be held from the November 10 to 14, will pay tribute to the brand’s history of fine watchmaking and especially celebrate the 200th birthday of the maison’s founding father, Ferdinand Adolph Lange.
“The exhibition in its fourth edition gives an inspiring insight into the world of A. Lange & Söhne’s haute horlogerie and will offer the increasing number of watchmaking lovers, enthusiasts and collectors from all over the region an opportunity to experience the company’s constant quest for perfection,” regional brand director, Ramzi Nael, said ahead of the exhibition’s opening.
Moreover, the brand is flying a watchmaker, based Glashütte, Switzerland; to Dubai to showcase his skills live during the exhibition.
“The watchmaker will be there to showcase some of the specific aspects of watchmaking and especially of A. Lange & Sohne,” Nael told Aficionado.
Nael explained that there will be 15 to 20 timepieces on display, showcasing the “historical line” of the brand, and tracing back its evolution since inception in 1845.
A. Lange & Söhne unveiled two anniversary editions to celebrate the late Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s birthday during the Watches & Wonders Haute Horlogerie Exhibition in Hong Kong last September.
The 1815 anniversary edition features a new honey-gold case with a solid silver argente-graine dial and includes several of the watchmaker’s trademarks.
The second celebratory watch, 1815 Chronograph, comes in a white-gold case, featuring blue numerals and a pulsometer scale.
The exhibition will also showcase some of the iconic timepieces released by A. Lange & Söhne at Salon International de Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), last January.
