Art Dubai, a leading art fair in the region, has opened for its tenth edition today, featuring its largest, most diverse and international line-up to date.
The fair, running at Madinat Jumeirah from March 16 to 19, is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
It features an extensive line-up of international and local galleries and artists, some of whom are participating for the first time. It is also presenting the largest non-profit educational program of any art fair around the world.
“Art Dubai has come a long way over the past ten years and we’re all excited to see the developments over the next decade,” fair director Antonia Carver says.
The fair also brings back the highly anticipated Global Art Forum, which unites some of the greatest thinkers under one roof.
Art Dubai 2016 is held in partnership with Dubai-based private equity investing firm the Abraaj Group. It is sponsored by Swiss private banking group Julius Baer and Swiss luxury watch and jewellery maker Piaget.
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is the strategic partner of Art Dubai and supports the fair’s educational program all year round, along with Dubai Design District (d3).
