Breitling opens 4th Dubai boutique at The Dubai Mall

Breitling, the Swiss luxury watchmaker, celebrated the opening of its boutique at The Dubai Mall on Monday.

This takes the number of Breitling boutiques in Dubai to four – making the emirate the city with the most standalone Breitling boutiques in the world.

The independent luxury Swiss watchmaker currently operates boutiques in Deira City Centre, Mirdiff City Centre, Mall Of the Emirates and, now, The Dubai Mall.

This opening also increases the number of Breitling boutiques in the Middle East to 11.

The new outlet, which took two months in preparation leading up to the opening, spans 100 sqm and is home to Breitling’s latest collections and limited-edition timepieces, such as the brand’s recently released Breitling for Bentley collection.

Speaking to Aficionado on opening day, Aed Adwan, sales manager for the Middle East said: “In term of size, this is not the biggest , but it’s the latest. And, in terms of volume of business and importance of the location…we see the potential of this city is still big.”

To celebrate the opening, artist Tracy Lee was commissioned by Breitling to create a 3D artwork, spread out on the floor of the Bloomingdale’s atrium in The Dubai Mall, in reference to the adventurous spirit of Breitling’s jet team. The artwork will be there until October 19th.

Ben Balmer, Breitling’s marketing director, and senior representatives from Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, Breitling’s distributors in Dubai, were among the opening’s attendees.

“Breitling creates functional, precise instruments for professionals that are COSC certified. This Breitling boutique is a perfect addition to the world’s largest mall,” Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, chief commercial officer at Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, said.

Supplying time

For the first time, Breitling has been chosen as the official timekeeper for the Dubai Air Show, which will be held in the emirate this November. During the event, the brand’s Wingwalkers will be making several appearances.

“Our Breitling Wing Walkers will be making four to five appearances during the Air Show… the planes have already been shipped and we’re supposed to receive them by early November,” Adwan said.

Breitling supplies international aviation teams with watches all over the world. In the UAE, pilots of Al Fursan, the national aerial display team from Abu Dhabi, are among the owners of Breitling watches from the world of aviation.
