Complex Made Simple

Celebrating British automotive history

In the lead-up to the Classic & Sports Car – The London Show, Tim Layzell creates a bespoke art piece to celebrate British automotive history.

The inaugural event will be held from October 30 till November 1 at the historic Alexandra Palace in the UK capital. UK-based Layzell is one of the most popular motoring artists of our time. He is frequently commissioned to create artwork by motoring enthusiasts and events, such as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California and the Monaco Grand Prix.

The retro-looking poster created by Layzell comprises three British-made cars just outside the Alexandra Palace. These are a Jaguar E-type, a Bentley Speed Six and a McLaren F1.

The three models are part of a total of ten British-made classic and sports cars – including the Mini Cooper S, Range Rover and Jaguar XKSS – set to be displayed at the show. All ten competed for the coveted ‘Best British Car Ever’ title. The winner was picked by popular vote in a global poll that closed on August 1 and will be revealed at the show.

Additionally, the motoring show will also feature more than 300 of the world’s most prestigious classic cars, provided by international collectors and renowned classic-car retailers.

Layzell’s artwork will become the new representation of the event, appearing on all marketing and promotional material related to the Classic & Sports Car – The London Show.

The poster will also be displayed during a special art exhibition at the Alexandra Palace during the show.
