Complex Made Simple

$190,000 Dubai Clock launched at The Hotel Show

Amjad Al-Hajj, an award-winning architect and a clock designer, launched the most awaited Dubai Clock last week at the nineteenth edition of The Hotel Show. The show is the region’s largest hospitality event that brings innovation and new ideas to the sector.

The name Dubai Clock has been derived as a symbol and a reminder of the city of Dubai. It has been stunningly designed as a piece of artistry and features a combination of magnificence and attraction. The Dubai Clock is a beautiful amalgamation of numerical shapes carefully adorned with scattered numbers that are made of steel. The design of the clock is conical shaped, twisted and wide from the bottom and narrowing as it approaches the summit, to give it a luxurious look.

Amjad’s passion for time and architectural design inspired him to bring together this piece of art. The Tower has been built bearing in mind its purpose of creating a unique feel in the interiors or exteriors of a hotel property. Whether traditional or modern in design, exquisite clocks radiate warmth, beauty and sophisticated elegance across all parts of the property, from the lobby, restaurants to the function spaces. Taking this ahead, Amjad launched a unique masterpiece for the hospitality sector which costs about $190,500 (AED 700,000).

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Amjad Al-Hajj, said, “UAE’s hospitality industry is one amongst the top global performers. The sector is gearing up to host visitors at World Expo 2020, and brands are definitely looking to stand out from the rest.”

“While designing the beautiful masterpiece, the only things I imagined, was how it would enhance the look and feel of any luxury hotel. It is not wrong when one says that the right timepieces accentuate the architecture, complement the other furnishings, and improve the overall guest experience. Keeping this in mind, I designed the Dubai Tower and launched it at The Hotel Show, 2018. The show brings together the entire community under one roof and what better than this.’’

Creativity and minimalism are two key elements that make Amjad an exceptional architect. Amjad is known for his unique work and he brilliantly captures the quintessence of time. Each of his designs are illustrating personal sentiments.
