Aficionado picks its favourite shoes off the runways for the Autumn/Winter 2014 season.
The loafer emerged as one of the most important footwear designs for winter, shifting from being daywear last season to become an important evening item this Fall/Winter as velvet and leather fabrics add a formal touch to it.
Designers played with new, softer coloured fabrics in red and blue and opted for the trainer hybrid shapes for an easy-to-wear look.
Standalone blue is the main colour focus of the season. Sky blue, cobalt and navy blue on formal and casual shoes make blue a wardrobe must have.
Primary red is another key trend this season; bright and dark soles give this classic colour a new twist.
As for the sportswear influences, they showed no sign of slowing down as the fashion trainer becomes an essential with contrast coloured sole and innovative hardware trims.
