JRG Dubai has collected four coveted titles at the 2015 edition of The ProChef Middle East Awards. In a ceremony held at the Habtoor Grand Hotel, the awards, which celebrate the skill and expertise of restaurant teams across the UAE, saw Group Head Chef Ben Tobitt named as ProChef of the Year.
JRG Dubai also took home the prestigious Executive Chef of the Year Award, with Chris Lester, JRG Dubai’s Group Executive Chef receiving the nod. Both of these awards acknowledge chef Chris and Ben’s culinary vision and their expertise with kitchen teams across a number of JRG restaurants, including Pierchic, Pai Thai, The Ivy Dubai, Tortuga and Zheng He’s.
Bringing recognition to individual JRG restaurants, Tom Hammond, Sous Chef at Rivington Grill Souk Al Bahar was named Junior Chef of the Year for his skill, creativity and dedication to consistency.
Lastly, on the front of house side, Christoph Winkel, General Manager of La Parrilla at Jumeirah Beach Hotel was named Restaurant Manager of the Year. Under Winkel’s guidance and leadership, La Parrilla has relaunched its Friday Brunch and continues to deliver an authentic Latin American experience, with warm and generous service.
These industry specific awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of F&B sector professionals from amongst their peers. In an open nomination process, a shortlist of candidates is presented to a panel of judges comprised of seasoned industry professionals, familiar with the criteria required to reach the top of the sector.
