Lacoste celebrates its 80th year by launching a new addition to the already successful Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 male fragrance collection: Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 Noir.
The fragrance is woody, aromatic inspired by the intensity of warm summer evenings and the timeless elegance of the Lacoste L.12.12 polo shirt.
“The new fragrance comes at a very auspicious time in Lacoste’s history so there is a special meaning for Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 Noir,” says Lacoste Design Director Christophe Pillet. “The launch of this very timeless, yet modern fragrance is very significant in terms of Lacoste’s history and its core values. What we are trying to do is keep its constantly modern and long-lasting feeling.”
Lacoste was born on a tennis court in the ‘20s, when French tennis champion René Lacoste revolutionized men’s fashion by replacing the classical woven, long-sleeved starched shirt with a light and comfortable short-sleeved one in airy petit piqué fabric, better known today as the classic Lacoste L.12.12 polo shirt. From that one white polo shirt, Lacoste has grown into an international super brand – one now recognised by over three quarters of the world’s population.
