OFIS anticipates increase in collaborative design workspaces across UAE

Collaborative design workspace set to increase twofold in 2015

OFIS Al Gurg Office Furniture, LLC (OFIS), is an interior design and furnishing practice specializing in modular furniture, flooring systems and fit-out solutions for the corporate, education, and healthcare sectors.

OFIS anticipates a higher than ever demand for collaborative, inclusive, and effective design in workspaces in the UAE as a result of forward-looking market indicators.

Coupled with a resilient economic outlook and a progressive society, the UAE continues to attract a plethora of talent from across the globe. As a result the need for efficiently designed workspace environments is on the rise.

While the UAE is becoming a hub for industries and professionals alike to set up base in key areas such as: JLT, Dubai Healthcare City, Academic City, Tecom, Business Bay and DIFC the need for a world class commercial interiors solution provider is imminent.

Further, with specific reference to the growing healthcare, education and corporate enterprise sectors the pursuit for holistic, yet efficient interior design solutions of which OFIS is championing the cause is also at a premium.

With the UAE furniture industry estimated to be worth AED 1 billion, the need to consistently evolve to stay in the game takes precedence. As a result, OFIS has added innovative brands to its portfolio. Muzo, which incorporates inclusive and effective design practices, is the new addition to OFIS’ existing collage of leading furniture brands such as Steelcase and DVO. Armstrong, the world’s leading manufacturer of resilient flooring is the new addition to the firm’s flooring offerings.

“OFIS has reached another milestone this year celebrating 31 years of commercial success in the UAE. Now more than ever, with the influence of companies like Google and Yahoo, when work environments are designed with the workforce needs in mind, then the correlation between productivity, efficiency and overall well-being is immense. Further, when proposing a functional design, OFIS considers the practicality of price/m2 during the consulting stages to ensure optimization of workspaces,” said Ben Woods, General Manager, OFIS.

With the education and healthcare sectors expanding and new facilities opening up in the UAE, the demand for flexible workspaces is inevitable and OFIS is well equipped to deliver such spaces. In the education sector, the need for more schools is increasing at a constant rate. More specifically, in Dubai’s private school segment, 26 schools have opened over the past three years and 11 are expected to open within the 2014-2015 academic year.

Likewise, the healthcare sector is poised for expansion of the next several years. Looking to the commercial space, recently opened Dubai Design District (D3) is attracting building design and architecture firms to set up shop providing scope of workplace design and fit out business.

Having created functional and contemporary office spaces to a growing portfolio of world-class clients including like DHL, HSBC, Emirates Airline, and a number of banking organizations within the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), OFIS is well augmented to satisfy workspace design needs across diversified industries.
