Abu Dhabi held its breath for the arrival to the region of what’s being arguably considered the best car in the world. The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class was celebrated the evening of August 28, 2017, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi.
The event displayed the exceptional elegance, comfort and luxury characterising the new flagship model. The 2018 model, a result of 114 years of pioneering evolution by Mercerdes, is being touted as the undisputed leader in automotive engineering.
Experiential zones immersed guests – more than 200 VIP customers, influencers and media – in the superior elements and features of the model. Presentation by Mark De Haes, President and CEO at Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East, highlighted the flagship model’s innovative capabilities.
He said the brand’s exciting new ventures are reinventing the future of cars and creating new mobility solutions.
Commenting on the launch, Lennart Mueller-Teut, Head of Marketing and Communications, Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East, said: “…the new S-Class really is the best of the best.”
The new model takes autonomous driving to a new level, with driver assistance systems and substantially expanded functionality that reflect the latest in automotive technology.
These include the Active Steering Assistant which was improved significantly across the full range of performance. The Active Intervention Assistant which reveals adn warns of potential collision cases facing the rear of the car. And finally, the Effective guidance Assistant which alerts and supports drivers who face pedestrians in potential danger zones.
Smart driving in the new S-Class is equally matched with comfort and world-first wellness features. Driving need not be stressful. Embedded are in-seat massage options, temperature controls, interior cabin climate control and mood-enhancing light and sound options.
Luxury is evident, with careful attention to every detail in the latest model, where one can find the finest-quality interior craftsmanship and an elite exterior design. The new S-Class brandishes stylish chrome finishes and distinctive Multibeam LED headlights with three unique torches.
The new S-Class will be available in different model variants in the GCC and Levant markets.
