Starwood hotels to open a new Sheraton in Turkey

The American hotel and leisure group is growing the number its properties in the country to ten.

Located on the Seyhan river, the Sheraton Adana is the product of a partnership between SERKA Turizm A.Ş, an Adali Holding Company, and the Starwood group.

“We are proud to work with Adali Holding to open Sheraton Adana, which marks Starwood’s tenth hotel milestone in Turkey, highlighting our commitment to strategically expand throughout the country,” says Michael Wale, president at Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Europe, Africa and the Middle East in a statement.

The hotel was designed by İki Design Mimarlık and Metex Design, who decided to build on the original design to create a mix of traditional and contemporary architecture for the hotel.

“Adana is the fifth largest province of Turkey and a major economic hub with great tourism potential. We will continue to be assertive in this area and look forward to accelerating our hospitality investments in the future,” says Serdal Adali, Co-chair of Adali Holding, in a press statement.

This new addition to the Starwood portfolio features a new part of Turkey and definitely embodies the will of the country to promote all its regions.

“The launch of our most iconic brand in Adana allows us to meet the growing demand for internationally-branded hotel accommodations in this fast-emerging city, and we are excited to offer a new gathering place for the local community and global travellers,” adds Wale in his statement.
