The 5 most influential UAE brands

LinkedIn announces the most influential brands headquartered in the UAE based on engagement among the website’s users.

Etihad airways ranked first, followed by Emirates Airline, Jumeirah Group, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Emaar. Showing that the hospitality industry is leading the Internet transition.

“We’re delighted to be recognised as the most influential brand in the region. LinkedIn provides us with a unique platform to engage business travellers and relevant decision makers. This ranking follows a number of very successful campaigns we’ve run on the platform, taking our number of followers above 120,000,” Elizabeth Selby, head of social media of Etihad Airways commented.

No luxury brands made it to the list, which should trigger a reaction from the brands considering how much the future of online branded content looks bright.

The trend of brands creating and curating content online is likely to pick up in 2015, according to Darius Labelle, head of creative strategies for the Mena region at Havas Digital, while speaking at a panel session during the 2014 arab luxury world.

“While LinkedIn offers brands unmatched opportunities to reach out and engage with their target audiences, any marketing effort needs constant and consistent measurement to ensure success. The brands we have identified in the UAE are leading among their peers in using LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions most effectively, and the make-up of the ranking shows that social media is a significant focus for brands in the UAE,” says Jacob Thomas, head of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions for Mena.

This ranking follows the announcement of LinkedIn’s Content Marketing Score earlier this year, a data-driven resource giving brands insights into the engagement with paid and organic content on the platform.
