The Great American Bagel Bakery; an award winning franchise, celebrated the official grand opening of its third branch in Qatar at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University Student Center.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by a number of distinguished guests including the United States Ambassador – Dana Shell Smith, General Manager of The Great American Bagel Bakery in Qatar – Jassim Mohamed Al-Theyab, brand representatives, and representatives of HBKU and its partner universities across Education City.
“We serve our top quality bagels at Al Hilal and Barwa Village, and now we’ve finally come to the heart of Education City,” said Jassim Mohamed Al-Theyab. “This is a proud moment for us and we are excited to be welcoming students, faculty and outside visitors to our new bakery at the HBKU Student Center. We have already become very popular with new customers and are confident that the bagel bakery is an excellent fit for this vibrant area,” he added.
The casual dining restaurant offers visitors a rich menu with a wide variety of fresh American bagels, Paninis, salads, delectable desserts and aromatic coffees. The recently opened branch welcomes customers with a comfortable and easy access ordering area, where they can view and select their preferences from a variety of quality baked bagels on display. As with all TGAB’s branches, the brand houses its own kitchen together with a dedicated team, essential for ensuring all products are freshly baked on-site every day. The branch will be operating at the HBKU Student Centre from Saturday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 8 pm and on Fridays from 1 pm to 8 pm.
Commenting on the opening, Reem Al-Abduljabbar, Operations Supervisor from HBKU Student Center, said, “We’re very happy to welcome The Great American Bagel Bakery to HBKU Student Center. It is a great addition to the wide range of outlets currently serving our students and faculty, and it has quickly built up a strong customer base.”
The Great American Bagel has now expanded to 12 locations in the GCC. The casual dining restaurant plans to open two more branches by the end of 2016 in both the Pearl and the upcoming Doha Festival City.
