Dubai, the UAE’s most vibrant city, is a leading shopping destination in the emirate and the wider Middle East, especially luxury retail.
Nakheel Retail, part of the Nakheel Group, one of the leading retail developers in the UAE, recently announced expansions for its Dubai-based Ibn Battuta Mall and unveiled plans to transform the man-made Palm Jumeirah Island to a leading luxury shopping destination.
Omar Khoory, the director of Nakheel retail, speaks to Aficionado on the sidelines of the arab luxury world conference 2015, the leading conference revolving around the business of luxury, which was held earlier in June.
“Palm Jumeirah is considered one of the most premium locations in Dubai, and it attracts mainly luxury shoppers, who are engaged in a luxury lifestyle,” he tells Aficionado, explaining why Nakheel chose Palm Jumeirah to launch its new premium shopping destination.
Below is his full interview, where he further discusses the reasoning behind Nakheel’s upcoming projects and shares his views on the arab luxury world conference.
