The new Volutes perfume by French fragrance house Diptyque is now available in the Middle East.
The arresting unisex fragrance takes the wearer on the same journey that one of the brand’s three founders, Yves Coueslant, used to make as a child on the transatlantic liners that connected Marseilles to Saigon. The heady scent of Egyptian tobacco is immediately evident but a chic composition is created with the help of full-bodied top notes of fresh spices such as pink pepper and saffron, as well as dry hay, golden honey and Iris. It’s fruity, floral and spicy all at once.
Aficionado met with Sophie Lambert, COO of Diptyque, who is confident that Volutes will be a success in the region.
“I’m sure it will do well. It’s very original and very special. I’ve never smelt anything like before…I think it will fit well with the customers here,” states Lambert.
Diptyque is growing globally. They presently have a store in The Dubai Mall and Qatar’s The Pearl but plan to boost their presence in the region by expanding soon into Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.
