Khimji Ramdas 2014 Calendar celebrates social initiatives

The Khimji Ramdas (KR) Group will be ushering the New Year with the launch of the KR Group 2014 Calendar Art. This initiative comes to commemorate the different social endeavours undertaken by the Company with a number of not-for-profit organizations and governmental institutions in the Sultanate, many of which have been consistently supported by the KR group throughout the year 2013.

The 2014 calendar depicts noteworthy social initiatives of these institutions supported by KR, highlighting their positive impact on the Omani society at large.

Commenting on the launch of the calendar, Nailesh Khimji Director, Khimji Ramdas, says, "The Khimji Ramdas Group plays an active role in the community development; KR's focus has always been towards empowering people and bringing about a positive change in their lives. Our 2014 calendar reiterates the KR Group's commitment in supporting the less fortunate in the Omani community, more importantly, it recognises the pivotal role that these institutions play in bringing about a positive change in the lives of many. We truly applaud the untiring efforts of these associations, civil institutions and NGOs. The launch of the 2014 Calendar is our way to giving back to our community."

As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility CSR) initiatives The KR Group has been supporting a number of organisations whether it is through offering financial aid or procuring supplies for their efficient functioning.

Some of the institutions and initiatives that have steadily benefitted from the KR Group's support throughout the course of the year 2013 answered to one of the two major areas the Group focused on: 'Human capital and society development' with beneficiaries such Youth Internship Program (PAIPED), Women Empowerment Workshops (Art of Living), Nurturing Talent - Summer of Sports (MOSA), Fostering Local Community Development (1st Izki Festival), Working Together with Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disability, Supporting Oman Association for Disabled, Partnering with Association for the Welfare of the Handicapped Children; Promoting Child Safety Car Seats Campaign (NYC), Supporting Oman Cancer Association, and Promoting Research of Ageing & Dementia Group (SQU).
