With the objective of presenting an apt platform for participants to gain valuable insights from successful and experienced entrepreneurs, the National Business Centre (NBC) will organise next week a series of events in line with the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) during the period from 15th to 19th November.
The GEW Oman, which also comes in line with the Sultanate’s celebrations of the 45th National Day, will focus on the concept of ‘SMEs beyond borders’.
GEW Oman will be inaugurated next Sunday by Khalifa bin Said Al Abri, CEO of the Public Authority for SMEs Development. Participants will have an opportunity to learn from successful and experienced entrepreneurs on the key elements of an environment that encourages entrepreneurial growth and is conducive to innovation. They will also be able to meet and network with a broad array of delegates who can help aspiring and potential entrepreneurs take the next step in starting and growing firms.
GEW Oman is an informal entrepreneurs’ gathering to present their ideas and to share knowledge and experience. Mulkie Al Hashmi, Director of Marketing at NBC, said: “This event takes place in more than 140 countries worldwide and we at the National Business Centre are privileged to host this initiative for the third consecutive year in coordination with various supporting local institutions comprising Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Public Authority for SMEs Development (Riyada), ITA’s SAS, National Bank of Oman, Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic), in addition to Mint Marketing.”
It should be noted that the Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators who work together to help bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. The purpose of this initiative is to connect experts and entrepreneurs across Oman and sectors to unleash their ideas and transform innovative ideas into reality. It also comes to encourage entrepreneurs in Oman to be more visible and help them in their efforts to launch and scale.
GEW Oman is designed with the following fields in mind: Directors & Managers; Consultants & Researchers; Engineers & Technicians; Bankers; ICT & Telecoms; Venture Capitalists; Environmentalists; Training & HRD; Academics; Civil Servants; Business Entrepreneurs; Senior Management, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Import & Export, Health & Safety; PR Specialists, IT, Sales and Advertising Managers; and Students.
