Abu Dhabi hotels and hotel apartments hosted approximately 952,000 guests during “Abu Dhabi Summer Season”, signalling a growth of 21 per cent compared with the same period of 2014, according to Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA).
The number of guests from India showed the largest increase during the Summer Season, growing by 29.8 per cent to 68,618 from 52,852 in 2014. Meanwhile, guests from the Americas increased by 24.4 per cent to 45,125 and guests from Europe increased by 18.1 per cent to 125,098.
Guests from across the GCC States, not including the UAE, increased by 9.8 per cent to 79,086, while guests from Oceania countries increased by 4.3 per cent to 16,471.
Domestic tourism also registered an impressive growth over July, August and September, Al-Ittihad reports.
Sultan Hamad Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director of tourism sector at Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, said that “Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2015” contributed to the increase in the number of hotel guests in the emirate, which is not only restricted to visitors from the region, but also the global market.
