Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has said occupancy in the UAE capital’s hotels and hotel apartments rose 10% year-on-year to 83% in November, bringing the total number of arrivals to date to over 2.5 million, Gulf News has reported. Guest arrivals at the emirate’s 149 hotels and hotel apartments jumped 26% to around 260,810 in November, compared with the same period in 2012, resulting in a 19% jump in revenue to Dhs669m, said TCA Abu Dhabi. “We hope to maintain the same performance in December,” Mohammad Al Daheri, director of strategy and policy at TCA Abu Dhabi told the daily, without revealing visitor numbers. He, however, expects “2.8 million guests arrivals in Abu Dhabi in 2014.”
