Adel Abdullah Ali, chief executive officer at Air Arabia, discusses his company’s growth strategy, geopolitics in the region and his outlook for the industry. He speaks on “Bloomberg Markets: Middle East.”
Air Arabia, the only listed airline in the region’s low cost carriers and the most actively traded in the Dubai Index, have placed an order for 6 new Airbus A321 NEOS, on Day 2 of the Dubai Air Show.
Said Ali: ” In our business, you tend to want to fly a little more, a little longer, with a few more seats, and this has to be a continuous process.”
“Our Airbus order for long haul service will come into effect in 2019 and will give us the reach that the A320 can’t today.”
With hubs in the UAE, Morocco and Egypt, the new Airbus A321 NEOS will allow the airline to go to more far away places.
“Despite the turmoil in the region for the past 5-6 years, we have been fortunate to be able to grow our passenger numbers, aircrafts and profitability,” Ali said.
