Ajman hotels’ revenues increase by 14 per cent in Q2

Emirate has total of 3,420 rooms and units, representing an increase of 14.5 per cent from last year

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) stressed the need to increase awareness and support for the tourism feeder market in Ajman, especially after the noted increase by 14 per cent in hotel revenues during the second quarter of 2015.

ATDD held a meeting with hotel representatives, tour operators and travel agencies.  The Committee, headed by Faisal Al Nuaimi, director general of ATDD, stated that the total revenues for hotels and hotel apartments in Ajman rose by 14 per cent in the second quarter of this year compared with the same period the previous year.

The Committee also noted that there is an increase of 40 per cent in Ajman hotels’ occupancy and in hotel apartment bookings, indicating that more guests are finding the emirate a good destination when visiting the UAE, Al Bayan reports.

As of the second quarter of this year, there are a total of 3,420 rooms and units in Ajman. This is an increase of 14.5 per cent from the previous year.

The emirate’s top five visiting nationalities during this period are from the UAE, followed by people from the GCC, Asians and Africans, other Arab countries and Russians. Out of these, Asians and Africans spent the highest number of guest nights followed by other Arab countries, Europeans and then people from the UAE and the GCC.
