Al Murooj Rotana Dubai once again manifested its strong support towards environmental sustainability by celebrating its own Green Week recently.
The week-long initiative consisted of daily activities including the Sunday Scavenger Hunt, Meat-free Monday, Switch-off Tuesday, Waste Not Wednesday and Thursday Green and Tree-planting Day. The Sunday Scavenger Hunt encouraged all colleagues to practice proper waste segregation as they competed to spot and report waste placed in the wrong bins.
Meat-free Monday presented all colleagues with the opportunity to enjoy delectable vegetable dishes in the hotel cafeteria.
For Switch off Tuesday, all non-essential lights were turned off at the colleague accommodation while Waste Not Wednesday, zero food wastage was introduced in the hotel cafeteria. Finally on Thursday, all non-uniformed colleagues were requested to wear green and the week-long event was celebrated by a tree-planting activity attended by the hotel’s management team and guests.
Commenting on this activity, Sven Fritzsche, Executive Asst. Manager of the hotel remarked “The Green Week was an exciting initiative everyone in the hotel got involved in. It is our way of showcasing our contribution towards to a sustainable environment and we look forward to implementing more of these activities in the future.”
