Batelco, Bahrain’s leading business solutions provider has partnered with Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay to provide an integrated telephony and data network solution to meet both the Hotel’s ICT needs and clienteles’ requirements.
The new deluxe property, which is the latest addition to the global portfolio of the world’s leading luxury hotel chain, Four Seasons, was officially opened by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa in March 2015. Located on a man-made island, the 5-star property forms the centrepiece of the US$2.5 billion Bahrain Bay development. The hotel features an iconic architectural structure, with two 68-storey towers connected by a Sky Bridge.
Batelco’s ICT deployment team worked closely with the Four Seasons management to clearly identify the Hotels’ specific requirements. Batelco then collaborated with selected specialist providers to develop the suitable network designs, and roll out the required solutions in line with the agreed work schedule to successfully meet the launch date.
Batelco addressed the Hotel’s core ICT requirements by designing a solution unique to the hospitality sector and aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.The solution incorporated leading global brands such as Avaya and Cisco; and delivering an internet protocol (IP) telephony solution consisting of handsets with voice mail, call accounting and contact centre capabilities. A customized data network supports the Hotel’s IP systems, and provides full Wi-Fi coverage throughout the premises.
The Batelco-installed network infrastructure supports all Hotel IP systems, including the communication systems and security; building management control for access and environment; and entertainment systems. The installed voice system is integrated with the hotel property management system using centralized cloud-based services for call accounting and voicemail.
Batelco delivered more than 1,700 handsets, including user-friendly IP handsets for 273 guest rooms, advanced IP handsets for administration areas, and specialist wireless IP handsets for hotel operations. The wireless IP handsets are integrated with a messaging system to provide text-based messages for internal communications; as well as integration for early warning notifications from the fire alarm and building management systems.
The Batelco-deployed Wi-Fi network coverage addresses all internal areas, which include seven dining outlets, a business centre, ballroom and spa, as well as car parks. Coverage of the external public areas, which comprise al fresco dining areas, five swimming pools and other leisure facilities, utilizes the latest technologies best suited to Bahrain’s climate.
Batelco’s telecommunication services are extended to the Hotel over its state-of-the-art fiber network. The network encompasses the Bahrain Bay in its entirety and allows for similar installations to be provided for up and coming projects.
