Batelco, in line with its commitment to support key events for youths, has announced its Platinum Sponsorship for the IGN Gaming Convention which will take place at the BIC (Bahrain International Circuit) on Friday and Saturday, October 24 and 25.
The year’s biggest pop culture and gaming convention in the Kingdom is being organised by Tarteeb Events in collaboration with internationally renowned IGN Entertainment.
The event is being held for the second year due to the huge success of the inaugural event in 2013 when over 4000 pop-culture enthusiasts from the region attended. This year’s event aims to be even bigger and better with the attendance of international celebrities including Hafthor Bjornsson, The Mountain, from the HBO hit series Game of Thrones, Naomi Kyle from IGN, Troy Baker from The Last of US and Julia Voth who is renowned to be the motion capture model of Jill Valentine in the Resident Evil videogames.
The IGN Gaming Tournaments Power by Batelco will include Call of Duty, Street Fighter 4, FIFA 2015, League of Legends and Cosplay (Costume Play). The winners of all tournaments will receive valuable prizes.
The event will also feature a large exhibition area with over 70 exhibitors displaying a collection of items related to the event’s different themes, a large artist ally for Bahraini and regional artists to display their work. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience all the latest gaming consoles and new games. New for this year is the addition of a live concert on the last day of the event, with local band The Experiment playing popular themes from different games, movies and TV shows.
