Boeing 737 programme begins production at higher rate

Boeing has said it has started building the first Next-Generation 737 at the programme's new production rate of 35 airplanes a month. The rate is increasing from 31.5 airplanes a month to meet worldwide market demand for the best-selling single-aisle airplane. "This is part of the series of rate increases to meet customer demand for the most popular airplane in aviation history," said Beverly Wyse, vice president and general manager of the 737 program.
