The growth in the number of Chinese tourists visiting Dubai reached a high point this year, with 241,000 Chinese visitors in Dubai in the first half of 2015, reports UAE-based Aliqtisadi.
This represents an increase of 25 per cent compared to the same period last year.
This growth in Chinese tourists’ numbers is boosting the importance of inbound tourism to the emirate from the Chinese market, which is one of the most important markets for inbound tourism.
According to Issam Kazim, chief executive of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), China was one of Dubai’s top ten tourism source markets in 2014, having ranked seventh, followed by Kuwait, Russia and Germany.
DCTCM announced that it is organising a visit of 450 Chinese delegates from media as well as representatives of leading corporations in the travel and tourism sector from eight Chinese cities, to introduce them directly to the most important elements of Dubai’s tourism.
