DNO appoints Chief Operating Officer

DNO ASA, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, announced the appointment of Jeroen Regtien as Chief Operating Officer based in Dubai, effective 1 January 2015.

Regtien comes to DNO from Royal Dutch Shell Plc, where he has had extensive international exploration and production experience, including in the Middle East. His most recent position was Country Chairman and Managing Director for Shell Egypt. Between 2008-11, Regtien served as Vice President for Hydrocarbon Recovery Technologies, Innovation Research and Development, based in the Netherlands.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jeroen to our executive management team,” said Executive Chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani. “His deep knowledge of technology and his track record of delivering operational performance across the oil and gas value chain will help reinforce our position as a cost-effective, innovative operator in the Middle East and North Africa,” Bijan added.

During his nearly 30-year career with Shell, Regtien also worked in Oman, Brunei, the United States and Australia. He holds a degree in experimental physics from the Groningen State University.
